Making Memories...

Last year one of the children won 2 tickets to go to the local children's museum. So, on Tuesday, we headed out to spend the day there! When we arrived, I was so happy to get a place to park! It is located right in the heart of downtown, and there isn't a lot of parking. I should have known right then that something was up. We stopped, took a couple pictures outside and then headed in. Too bad they weren't open! Come to find out, they are only opened Wednesday - Saturday.Ugh! Now what were we going to do?
Because I had already planned to be away for the day, I decided we would head to the mall and see if anything was playing. We don't go to the movies all that often because 1. it is really expensive 2. there is not much worth seeing. With the older children away, I thought it would be a nice treat for us. We arrived and took note of what was playing and the only thing appropriate was "UP". The new Disney/Pixar film. I had heard good things about it, so I bought the tickets and we headed over to the snack center. Being that it was Tuesday, we were able to get a small popcorn for $1.00. Too bad the rest of the things were so expensive. When we walked in the theater, we were the only ones there. I, for one, like being the only one in a theater, it is very relaxing. Of course, that didn't last long and more people arrived.

The children said they enjoyed the movie. Luc was thoroughly entranced by it. What is it with boys and movies/TV that captures their whole attention?
It was a nice way to spend the afternoon, movie, popcorn, peanut butter cups and time with the children. Of course, Lys and I would have liked a sweater, once the movie started it was freezing in there! Oh well, next time we will try to remember.
Here they are in the elevator after the movie. No, Lys did not get to actually drink the soda she was holding. She was just pretending and Luc was just being silly. They wanted to get some lunch, so we headed to the food court and grabbed us some Wendy's. After a movie, one does what one must to eat cheap! Hey, that rather "large" small soda from the theater came in handy for lunch as well!

I guess you could say we were successful in making memories. Were they memories I had thought we would make? No, but they are good memories just the same. The best thing about our day, when Lys thanked me for a really fun day. What could be better?! Nothing, that was enough for me!
