Happy Birthday, Lys

13 years ago, God blessed us with this beautiful little girl.

She was born Wednesday, January 28, at 7:17pm.
It was not the easiest delivery.  She was in distress.
Once they delivered her, she was whisked away
to the NICU. I was not able to see her until a
little after midnight, that is why the date is the
29th.  When they brought her to us, she was
just perfect.  There were no issues and as you
can see, she was no worse for the wear! I wish I
could have said the same thing about me! :-)

So, on this day, the day my baby girl becomes
a teenager, Happy Birthday!

I love you, Daddy loves you and most of all
God loves you!

P.S. Just as a sneak peek.

This is Lys with her big brother when she was
15 days old.
Oh, and her big brother.
He turns 17 next Friday.

Welcome to Busy

Are you all feeling the same way I am?

Are you finding it hard to "find" time to blog?

Are you always looking forward to the end of the day
and just sitting and doing nothing?

No? Good! I hope you are all being productive!

Me? I could answer "yes" to all of the above.

I know that time seems to go faster as you get older.

I just didn't realize it would fly by at lightning speed.
I can't believe that  a week has gone by and I have
nothing new to blog about.

You would think with 4 children, I would have plenty of
blog fodder.  Sorry to say, that is just not so.  Things here
have been busy, but quiet.  Nothing exciting, nothing note
worthy.  I could fill you in on my daily life, but after about
two days, you would click on over to another blog.  ;-)

I will have things to blog about after today.

Tomorrow is Lys's birthday.  And it isn't just any birthday
either.  She is turning 13.

WOW!  Talk about time flying by!

So, I will just post this week's word and see what you have
to say.

PERSPICUOUS: per-spik-yoo-uhs –adjective

Late Again!~Updated

Here it is, Tuesday afternoon, and I am just posting our word for the week.  I spent the day with my mom yesterday and didn't get time to post.  I was having too much fun.

Without any further delays.

Here is our word for the week.

CONFABULATE: kuhn-fab-yuh-leyt –verb

You girls, ROCK!

I am so excited about how many guesses we had today.  I want to say a big welcome to our new "guessers".

Some of you were headed down the right road, you just need to travel a little bit further.

Thanks for playing!  See you next week when we can confabulate some more.

There were originally 25 on this list, but I thought 3 of them were just a little much.  Enjoy, and have a great weekend.

Here at our house, Mondays and Tuesdays are busy days, so I am going to be scheduling our word posts in advance.

Just to Update You

I have racked my brain (and considering I have a sinus infection, it kind of hurt to rack it) to remember what has gone on in my blog absence.

BEWARE: Long post to follow.

I posted on December 22, about Luc's birthday.  Then I recapped his birthday for y'all on the 30th.  That means I have several days to bring you up-to-date on.

So, let's start with the 23rd. The children and I braved the mall for some last minute Christmas shopping.  It wasn't all that busy and we even snagged a parking spot 6 places from the door!  It was a good day.

On Christmas eve, T and Ty had to work until noon and then we headed out to run errands.  WHAT A MISTAKE!  The side of town we had to go to is notorious for nasty traffic and it was nasty!  We came home and made our annual Christmas cookies, which are spritz butter cookies, and then headed to Mommy's house!

We went to celebrate Christmas, and we had a blast!  It is always fun to spend time at her house.  We opened presents, ate supper, watched a movie and then played the wii.  Like I said, it is always fun!

We woke up Christmas morning, ate breakfast, and headed to my in-laws house.  T's sister and her family surprised my in-laws for Christmas, and it was a GREAT day!  We helped with the preparing of the meal, then spent the time talking, laughing, eating, opening presents and playing games! It was so much fun to have the SD family home!

Sautrday we ended up spending the day with T's dad and his sister's family at the farm.  The children were able to spend some time sledding and playing outside.  From there, we had to head home to prepare for our Church's Christmas dinner.

After church on Sunday, we were able to celebrate "our" Christmas.  Everyone was quite pleased with their gifts and it was a very enjoyable family day!

On Monday and Tuesday, the teenagers were required to work from 10-2.  Then on Wednesday and Thursday, Ty worked from 7:30-2 and Beth worked 10-2.  So much for my getting to sleep in during "my vacation".

Tuesday was the day that I started not feeling well and the day I had to start my end of the quarter reports. I spent as much time as I could working on them, but with being the "teenager taxi' it didn't amount to much.

Wednesday, I again worked on the reports and by now I really was NOT feeling well.  I was able to get the Ty's reports done and mailed off.  Plus, I was able to get the local reports sent off as well.  All this while fighting a nasty headcold!  YAY!

I really can't remember much about New Year's Eve.  I know we didn't do much.  Friday we spent the day at home.  T is in the final stages of getting the additon ready for final inspection, so, he and the children spent the morning cleaning the basement.

Around 3 pm, T and Lys started a Science experiment.  While watching them, I noticed that Lys was not using her right arm.  We asked her what was going on, and she mentioned that she had hurt her wrist earlier in the day wrestling with Luc.  Both T and I decided that she needed to go to urgent care.

After 2 hours at urgent care, it was determined she had sprained her wrist.  She came home with her wrist in a splint and a note keeping her out of gym. :-)

New Year's Day, we spent the day shopping.  The children all had places they wanted to go and money they wanted to spend.  I can't tell you how happy I was to get home.  By now, I knew I had a sinus infection and not just a cold.  I did absolutely nothing once we got home and it was fantastic.  Fantasticly painful! That meant no church for me on Sunday.  I slept in, read and rested under my comfy cozy blanket.

Monday I was able to get a doctor's appointment and some antibiotics.
Tuesday we had eye appointments and the children had to work.
Wednesday was the first offical day "back-to-school".  Can I just say, it was pretty nice, too!
Thursday was a quiet day at home for me, T was the taxi for the day and I was so thankful.
Friday I had a long list of errands to run and Lys had a check-up for her wrist. Thankfully all is well.
Today, we went to church to "take down" the Christmas decorations and then spent the day at home.
It was a good day to get work done around the house.

Thanks for sticking with me and my update.  You are all now caught up with our lives.  Thanks for being patient while this blog was in la=la land.
