And The Winner Is....

In honor of my 200th post, I thought I would
share with you my good fortune!

Since I started my blog, I have added to "my
list" of the blogs I read. Sometimes daily.

I have entered a few drawings/contests,
not expecting to win anything.

I have been blessed to win some
really fun stuff.

In March, I entered to win one of
Tamera Alexander's books.

I won the second book in her Timber Ridge series.
These books are really good!  I really love
to read her books.

In April, I entered a contest on
I won!
A copy of the third book in her series with Tracie Peterson.
A Surrendered Heart

All the books in the series were great! I would
recommend them to anyone.

In August, I also won a cd from
It is a very cute site. You can order
personalized dolls with scripture verses
on their tummies.  If you need a gift,
you should check it out.
I love this CD, it arrived just before I scheduled
my surgery.  I was so thankful to have it.  I listened
to it during the night while I stayed in the hospital.

In October, I just happen to win
the BIGGEST prize!
I follow the blog
grass stains ( you should
go and read, if you don't laugh...
well just go and read)

It was a $100 Target gift card.  I used it to buy Christmas presents
and for a blanket for our bed! It was fantastic and a blessing to
win that!  Thank you, grass stains!

The latest item I won, is this fantastic John Deere
stocking.  I entered a contest on
John Deere Mom's blog.

As you can see Ty thought it was great! It was
part of his Christmas present.

I really need to buy one for Luc.  He was
hoping it was for him.  Beth thought
it might be for her, too.  Of course, I
think she was kidding.

I really wanted my 200th post to be something
fantastic.  Alas, I have too much
going on to think of anything profound.

I trust everyone had a awesome Easter.  Because
just think about it, Easter is AWESOME!

Christ Arose!

Word Post # 45

No, it is not what you are thinking.

I do not sit and randomly count my posts to see how many I have.
I simply have run out of names for our word of the week.

If you can think of something "catchy", feel free to let me know.

We have had more beautiful weather!

We even survived Daylight Saving Time!

Let's see if you can "survive" this week's
word.

Thanks for playing girls!  You had some good answers.

I haven't been avoiding you...I just haven't been
on the 'net all that much this week.

You might not see anything new here for a bit.
My 200th post is next, and I haven't figured
out what I would like it to be.

I want to pass my best wishes on to
momma.  I will be thinking of you!

P.S. I am not sure what is up with blogger
I can't get this to post right.

Turkeys

When we had our "big" snow event the end of
February, we woke to about 13 turkeys
sitting/sleeping on our frozen pond.
Soaking up the warm rays of the sun.

Later that same day, after the snow-blowing
and shoveling, this is what we found in our driveway.

I couldn't get a very good picture, they all
hurried away once I opened the door.

Interestingly enough, the night before when I
put the children to bed, our devotion book was
on wild turkeys.

The following are statements are taken from
The Big Book of Animal Devotions
by William L. Coleman.

-Wild Turkeys are built for short, fast flights.
-Turkeys can reach flight speeds of about
forty miles per hour almost immediately.
-It a turkey could keep up that speed, it
would be amazing for a bird that lives on
the ground.  The problem is they can't.
-After carrying twenty-five pounds for a
short distance, they have to land.

-Imagine for a minute that God's love
came and went in short, rapid bursts.
-He would be enthused, energetic and
helpful for a few hours, but soon He
would retreat for a long rest.
-God is better than that.  He stays around
day after day.  He doesn't tucker out,
wear down, or take coffee breaks.
-Steady as a rock, God hangs in there
every day.

Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Psalm 106:1
