Game Day!

No, I am not a week behind. I know the "big game" was last week, I didn't miss it! Today our day did not go they way we planned. Have you had days like that( yes, mommy, I know your day was nothing like you planned either)? This morning our plans were to go to Sunday school, church, eat lunch at church, attend the afternoon service and then come home. We were going to be taking my mom's car back to her (we borrow it when ours needs to go to the shop) and spend the afternoon together.
Well, when we woke up this morning, we noticed some water was coming in our bathroom above the window. T checked it out and found a rather large chuck of ice built up over the window. Not usually a problem, he has a really tall ladder, but it was at my parents house. So, T called and asked if they could bring it up for him today. Fast-forward a couple of hours and we are getting ready for church to start and guess you shows up for church. Yup, you guessed it. Mommy was standing in the foyer and it was great to see her. They had dropped the ladder off at our house, came for church and then were headed for lunch at Texas Roadhouse. Well, I don't enjoy fellowship dinners, and I "suggested" that it would be nice if mommy and I went to lunch together. We had a really nice dinner and we were able to get caught up with each other with no children around to listen to all that is said. After dinner, we headed home and figured we would have some time to chat while the men were out taking care of the ice. Mommy had said "T, hurry up so we can play cards" I told her, it would probably be a while and had even started working on another project figuring they would be quite a bit. Needless to say, Mommy got her wish, they were in only after about 10 minutes.
We proceeded to play a couple of games of Rook, and then moved on to a couple of other new games that we had gotten. We played the new version of Scrabble called "Scrabble me", where all four players play at the same time, and Buzz word. After that, things kept right on truckin'. We played Rack-o, Uno, and Split. It was a great day and everyone was able to have a chance to play something they liked. It was great to spend time together, have fun and be silly! Thanks for playing, everyone! Too bad we have to go back to school tomorrow. We have had a GREAT week-end. And I didn't even want to mention all the things we did on Saturday. This post was already too long! Hope you enjoyed hearing about our day. See you Tuesday for our word of the week!

wish we could have been there! I haven't played Rook in a long time. and that Scrabble sounds like fun! But alas, Daddy would probably win--like usual. :)

Thanks for "game day." It was the best :) As we know, it never does any good to have your days planned out; when will we learn it is best to fly by the seat of our pants.
