The Answer

You girls are all so funny!

Good try Grape, you made me smile.

Momma, you always come up with something good!

But I laughed out loud when I read Berger Bites.  You are too funny!  Having a new baby must really agree with you!

Cut Your Own Tree

We had never before cut our own Christmas tree.
It was something I had always wanted to do, but
our busy schedules seemed to hinder us.  So,
this year we made it a priority.

Saturday was a very busy day for us.  We started
the day with a children's Christmas party, headed to
church for play practice and then home to get bundled
up to head here-

A local Christmas tree farm.  As you can see it was a
beautiful day.  The sun was shinning, there was not a
cloud in the sky and there was hardly any wind.

Heading out to the field of trees

Beth's extremes from the very small and cute
to the extremely large and gorgeous!

We knew that we could not get a tree any taller than 7 feet.
Boy, was it challenging!  They had some really beautiful trees.

Ty found this one!

Luc really wanted to cut our tree this year, too.

His looked just a little tall as well.

Our final pick.  Everyone really was happy! It was
the one Ty found!

Trying his hand at cutting down the tree. It was harder
than he thought it would be. Dad finished it for him.

But he was able to help trim it up a bit.

Maneuvering our way out of the maze of trees.  It was like
playing follow the leader and hope the leader knew the way out!

Our big, strong tree carrier, Ty!  Yup, I even made it
into a picture. Don't you think I look great!

Even Lys wanted to hand at helping with the tree.

We came home happy with our 7 foot, $20.00 Christmas tree.
We hope to go back next year and have as much fun as we
did this year! I would encourage everyone to try it.

Final Word for 2009

Hi, All!

Are you feeling overwhelmed and frazzled?  Are you tired and running behind schedule?

I am.

But then, it isn't unusual for this time of year.  With Thanksgiving, the ending of the
second quarter, shopping, getting ready to celebrate a birthday and Christmas
preparations, I get just a bit...grumpy, irritable, and I tend to lose some of the
holiday spirit.  So, this year I have decided to not be quite so OCD about it.
I have taken on the attitude of simply being happy if I get something
accomplished during the day.

All that being said, today will be the last word of the week until sometime after
the new year.  I need to take a little break from my computer.  Oh wait!
I will still have to be on the computer, but I will have to be doing my "work"
and not "playing".

Here it is, are you ready?
