What Do These Have in Common?
The 2010 Winter Olypmics, Burn Notice, Demesne and NCIS: Los Angeles...
Do you have any ideas? What are you thinking?
They are all how I spent Monday night.
First, the children and I watched the Olympics. We cracked some jokes about the luge-rs and the track. Picture Beth trying to walk up the track. If you knew her, you would be laughing. Laughing really hard! She can trip over the lines in linoleum. lol
Trust me, it is totally true and she would agree!
Then we sent the children off to bed and got down to some serious tv watching.
I heart Michael Westin (Burn Notice) and G Callen (NCIS)!
Finally, while I was enjoying the "bad" boys, I figured I would get our word of the week
ready.
Aren't you proud? I am going to be on time! Woo-Hoo! YAY! For me and you!
Just kidding. Maybe.
Here is the word of the week. I can't wait to hear from you!
DEMESNE: \di-'mān\ n
1: legal possession of land as one’s own
2 a: the land attached to a mansion
b: estate *c: region or territory
3: realm or domain
Congratulations, momma! You did it again!
I really liked your guess about the men of Monday night tv!
That made me smile!
(and if you knew the week I have had, I will take some lightness anywhere I can get it)

February 5
Ty's birthday fell on a Friday and he
decided he would take a day off
from school. Boy, did we need a day off!
We started the day off right! Grandma came and
we went to McDonald's for breakfast. Woo-hoo!
After breakfast, we jumped on the big road and
headed west to a western wear store.
(My children love western clothes)
While we were there, Ty was able to acquire something
he had been wanting ever since he was out West
this past summer.
Uncle Brent has a coat like this one, and
once Ty tried it on, he was hooked!
Once Dad got home from work, we were able
to finish the day with more presents.
1. The birthday boy-officially 17!
2. A Wal-mart gift card
3. Getting excited about #4
4. Lego combine
It was a really fun day! Thanks for having a
birthday, Ty!
I love you!

Ty's 17th Party
On the Saturday that we celebrated Lys and her birthday, we also celebrated Ty's birthday.
These are some of his pictures.
Just what every boy needs. A John Deere calendar
with a J.D. tractor.
Ty had been learning how to weld. His grandpas
know how, and this was the year of welding supplies.
Don't worry, I didn't know what it was either. It is
a chipping hammer. It is to use while welding. It
actually is a cute little thingy. :-)
And just what every 17 year old boy wants needs.
He did have more presents, but I wouldn't want to
bore you with them. Plus, he moves really fast
and lot of the pictures are a blur!
I found this picture, in which he is sitting still
Plus, I gave you a little help. :-)
And here is a picture of his birthday cake.
Yup, homemade by Dad! Dad you ROCK!
I will have to do a whole different post about the cake.
But, I will leave you with this shot.
This post is quite long. I will have to do another one for his actual birthday.
Thanks for hanging in there!

*Updated~Technical Issues Resolved
Well, not really.
But I thought it would be a nice way to introduce this week's word. There really were not "actual" technical issues last week. Just some timing issues and needing some gumption on the part of the blog writer. Ha, ha!
Here is this week's word.
NOETIC: \nō-'e-tik\ adj:
of, relating to, or based on the intellect
I am just not being very good at getting back into the routine. There I said it. Ugh! And I like, wait, NO, I LOVE routine! I just don't know what it wrong with me.
I hope y'all are having a great week. For the third time in as many weeks, we are not getting snow. I am a little concerned. What will it be like once it decides to start snowing here?!
