It's Thursday's Word of The Week

I hope y'all haven't been waiting patiently at your computer for Tuesday's word.  This week has been really busy, and I just haven't had much time to keep up with our blog.

We have been inundated with appointments; a dentist and chiropractor appointment, p t appointments, and a burial.  Plus, did I mention we are in the last week of school and it is EXAM time! Oh, my! 

I know you have been waiting, so here it is.

extirpate: –verb [ek-ster-peyt, ik-stur-peyt]

1.	to remove or destroy totally; do away with; exterminate.

2.	to pull up by or as if by the roots; root up: to extirpate an unwanted hair.

Goin' Green

Today's Spring post is dedicated to green...trees and bushes, that is! Pretty much all of our bulbs are history. We had 90 degree temps last week and it killed them. Today I mowed the lawn and decided we would celebrate green. These are blossoms on one of our apple trees in our "back 40". I think it is pretty and it isn't even open yet :-) Plus, I like the pink!

Blackberry bush before all the good fruit makes its way to a homemade pie by Beth.Our one and only lilac bush that actually blooms, they should be open soon! Yippee! Of course Tom doesn't think so, they bother his allergies.

My weeping cherry tree, this is the first year it has bloomed since the children gave it to me for Mother's Day three years ago. Sorry it isn't focused.

We planted a row of poplar trees along the east side of our house. They have grown leaps and bounds since we planted them. We can't wait until they form a hedge along the property line.
And last but not least, this little evergreen tree is one of my favorite. It was on the property when we bought our house, and it was just a tiny little thing. Now it is taller than Tom! It looks great decorated at Christmas.

Only Eight

I have never done these things before, but when Momma tagged me with this one, I thought I would give it a try.

Eight Things I am Looking Forward to:

1. My new home in Heaven
2. Seeing family when I get there!
3. Finding a new Pastor for our church
4. School & reports being over with for the year
5. Summer Vacation!!!!
6. Having my new bedroom finished

1. Woke up late
2. Did school with my children

4. Took my daughter to physical therapy

7. Tried to qualify for a contest on K-Love
8. Let my son drive home

Eight Things I Wish I Could Do:

1. Play the piano
2. Keep my house cleaner
3. Be a good conversationalist (I don't make small talk well)
4. Wear a size 8 :-D
5. Not be afraid of heights, snakes, mice or spiders. UGH!!!!
6. Make my children get good grades all the time
7. Spend more time with family
8. Not cry so easily
